James K. Eichelberger, CFP,® AIF®

James has been listed as one of the 250 Top U.S. Advisers in Worth Magazine in 2001, 2002 and 2004, and is the 2015 recipient of SmartCEO’s Money Manager Award. Active as a financial planner since 1988, James is a past President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Maryland Institute of Certified Financial Planners. He has served as Chairman of the small business development committee of the Baltimore City Chamber of Commerce and has chaired several special events, including the Executive Dialogue Group and the Small Business Roundtable. He is also a member of the board of directors for USA Bobsled & Skeleton (USABS) and Archbishop Spalding High School. Quoted extensively in the local press, James was selected to serve on a panel of CFP®s to answer readers’ questions at USA Today.

Born and raised in Washington, DC, James is a 1983 graduate of Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Jim has been active in the financial planning industry since 1987, with well over 25 years of experience, and has been a Partner in StratWealth since it’s inception in 1991. Jim enjoys the relationship he has with his clientele, as he helps to manage and monitor their personal and financial goals.

Jim graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. He graduated from the College for Financial Planning and earned the CFP designation by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards in 1992. In addition, Jim maintains the Accredited Investment Fiduciary designation (AIF®), which further acknowledges his desire to consistently recommend what is absolutely in the best interest of the client. Jim attends educational events regularly, in an effort to stay abreast and to improve his skills.

Jim has a passion for spending time with his family, his wife Eileen and their three children, residing in Arnold, Maryland. He enjoys a variety of activities that include running, hiking and biking. Gary P. Desjardins, CFP,® CRPS,® AIF®

As a past Vice President of a national bank, Gary’s background serves him well in the area of bank products and services, including retail and commercial lending. In 2002 he was recognized by the College for Financial Planning as a Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist (CRPS®) and is qualified to design retirement plan solutions for businesses. He also holds the accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation. As a member of the Financial Planning Association, he stays current with trends in the industry and legislative changes.

A native of Concord, New Hampshire, Gary moved to Salisbury, Maryland in 1985 where he graduated from Salisbury State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He graduated from the College for Financial Planning in Denver and earned the CFP® designation from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards in 1998. Gary serves the community as a professional partner for many community philanthropies, such as Hope and Life Outreach (HALO), Salisbury Salvation Army, Hazel Outdoor Discovery Center, and the Peninsula Regional Medical Center Foundation. Jennine Ramsey LaCroix, CFP,® MBA, AIF®

Jennine began her career at a financial planning firm in Glen Echo, Maryland, as an Assistant Portfolio Manager. In 1996 she joined StratWealth as a Portfolio manager, and is currently a client adviser and partner with the firm. Jennine is a member of the Financial Planning Association, and holds multiple financial credentials: Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS®) designation, Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor (CMFC®) designation, and Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation.

In 1992, Jennine graduated from Marymount University with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Finance. While working full time, she continued her education at Marymount and completed her MBA degree with a concentration in finance in 1995. Jim DeCarlo is a thought leader with more than two decades in the global retirement and financial services market. He commands a vast experience in private and corporate business gleaned from prior positions as VP of Distribution for a boutique broker dealer, executive board membership of a multi-billion dollar fund management firm and others. Possessing a unique flair for leadership, team building, change management and inspiring project management, his passion is ‘intersecting’ these experiences to improve individuals, teams, shareholder value and the financial services industry as a whole. Jim has a track record of helping organizations design, build and operate businesses that work. His passion for success is infectious.

Originally from Ellicott City, Maryland, Jim is a graduate of Towson University, a former All-American and professional indoor lacrosse player and the proud son of Art DeCarlo — a member of the famous 1950’s Baltimore Colts team. In his spare time, he mentors young executives in Howard County Leadership, serves as a board member and director of coaching education for Howard County Lacrosse and lends his business acumen to the local community as a coach and speaker. Joseph P. Garrison, CFP,® AIF®

Joe is a Partner at StratWealth. He joined StratWealth in 1999 and his past roles include service as Director of the firm’s Investment Research Division, and Chairman of the firm’s Investment Committee. Joe is a member and past President of the Financial Planning Association of Maryland. He has also taught financial planning courses for the National Endowment for Financial Education and volunteered at Junior Achievement’s Biz Town. He is a graduate of Leadership Howard County’s Premier program and serves on their Finance Committee. Kimberly S. Magaha, CFP,® AIF®

Kim joined StratWealth in 2004 and has served in many roles in the firm. Currently she is an Advisor and Partner. A member of the Financial Planning Association, Kim serves on the Advisory Council for Salisbury University’s Franklin P. Perdue School of Business Department of Economics and Finance, volunteers for Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore and has served on the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County.

Patricia B. Achterhof, CPFA,® RPSM,® AIF®
Chief Operating Officer

Currently the Chief Operating Officer for StratWealth, Patricia has served on the firm’s Investment Committee for several years and presently sits as Vice Chair. In 2010, Patricia began working at StratWealth soon after completing her Registered ParaplannerSM designation from the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado. She joined the Qualified Plans division in 2011, and received her Qualified Plan Financial Consultant credentials through the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries in 2013.

Attending the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, Patricia graduated Magna Cum Laude with University Honors in both her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in 2006. She is active in her community and is a candidate in the Leadership Essentials program through Loyola University Maryland and Leadership Howard County. Joining StratWealth in July of 2010, Amanda currently serves as the Director of Financial Planning. In July of 2013, she was conferred with the CFP® designation by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. She is an active member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA), where she serves on the Community Outreach Committee for the Maryland Chapter. Amanda is a current candidate of the Leadership Essentials program through Loyola University Maryland and Leadership Howard County

As a CDFA™ professional, since April of 2014, Amanda helps clients determine the short-term and long-term financial impacts of any proposed divorce settlement. Her background in financial planning has provided her with the needed skills to analyze and provide expertise to both clients and attorneys related to the financial issues of divorce.

Amanda is a graduate of McDaniel College with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, Economics, and Accounting Economics with a Minor in Accounting.
